FOR J.F. BLANTON
Funeral services will be held at the home at Volga Thursday (Feb.
9, 1956) for John F. "Sonny" Blanton, 65, who died suddenly at his
home.
A lifelong resident of Volga, he had been a mail carrier in the
county for a number of years.
The son of S.L. and Sarah McKenzie Blanton, he was born March 5,
1890.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Rice Blanton, Win, three
daughters, Mrs. Christine Stacy and Mrs. Ivel McKenzie, both of
Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Neva Lee Lemaster, Ashland.
Other survivors include three brothers, George and Kendrick
Blanton, both of Volga and Albert Blanton of Ironton, O., and four
sisters, Mrs. Virgil Williams, Red Bush, Mrs. Bertha Trimble,
Volga, Mrs. Della Lemaster, Portsmouth, Ohio and Mrs. Verna Butler.
Burial will be made in the family cemetery under the direction of
the Paintsville Funeral Home.
