VOLGA RESIDENT
KILLED INSTANTLY 
IN OHIO WRECK

Cline Blanton, 41, Volga, KY, was killed instantly at noon Monday,
Oct.04 1954 when a pickup truck in which he was a passenger wrecked
near Jackson, Ohio throwing him from the truck. Blanton, who was
employed by the H. I. Gentry Construction Company, Jackson, Mich.,
and a friend, were going to Jackson, Ohio for lunch when the
accident occurred.  According to reports received here, the friend,
who was driving the truck swerved into a field in an effort to
avoid hitting some road machinery.  Both men were thrown from the
truck and it is believed that Blanton's head truck swerved into a
field in an he was thrown out.

Death was attributed to a skull fracture. He had returned to work
Monday from a weekend visit with his family at Volga.

The son of John F. and Lillie Rice Blanton who survive.

Surviving besides the parents are his wife, Lou Anna McCarty
Blanton, five daughters, Joyce, Maxine, Jean, Margaret, Joan
Blanton, all of Volga, one brother Clyde Blanton, Win and three
sisters, Mrs. Ivel Mckenzie, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Christine Rice,
Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Nevn Lemasters, Volga. The body is at the
home of his father at Volga.

Burial will be under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
