JOHN W BLAIR
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p. m., Monday, August 15, for John W. Blair, 85, one of Johnson County's most respected citizens, who died at his home on Middle Fork of Jennies Creek at 3:00 p. m., August 13, 1949 following an illness of several months. Services were conducted at the home by Rev. William Horn.
A native of Johnson County and a lifelong resident, he was the son of Hayden and Mary Margaret Horn Blair. He engaged in farming until he was forced by ill health to retire.
He is survived by his wife Lydia Burke Blair, and five children; three daughters, Mrs. Ruie Kestner, Hager Hill, and Ruth Blair and Ruby Blair both at home; two sons, Ray of this city and Clay of Collista.
Burial was in the family cemetery under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
