Herschell Blair Passes March 3 Funeral Services Held At Leander
Herschell Blair, 46, died in a local hospital at 2:00 a.m., Saturday,
March 3, after a two months' illness.
The son of Millard Blair of Leander and the late Lou Ellen O'Bryan
Blair, he was born at Barnetts Creek, October 19, 1904.
A truck operator he had resided at Leander for the past four years.
Always friendly and willing to assist those in need, he had many
friends in this county where most of his life was spent.
He was married in 1927 to Ada Griffith, who survives him. He was
preceded in death eighteen years ago by one son, Herschell Eugene.
Surviving besides his widow are three children, Rebecca Lou, Leander,
Bert, Staffordsville and Ernest Ray, Leander, and one granddaughter,
Linda Faye. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Blanton,
Win, and Mrs. Gladys Williams, Flat Gap.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 5, at
the Leander High School by Revs. Willard Wilcox and Scott Castle.
Songs were by the Toms Creek Quartet.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Asa under the direction of the
Paintsville Funeral Home.
