GREEN BLAIR
Green Blair Dies Thursday At Thealka (April 17, 1958) Funeral services were held Sunday at the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church for Green Blair, 87, who died at his home at Thealka at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 17, after an illness of several years.
The son of the late Asa and Clinie Phelps Blair, he was born in Magoffin County February 27, 1871, but had lived practically all of his life in Johnson County.
He was a member of the First Baptist church and worked as a miner prior to his retirement.
Surviving are his widow, Lillian Dean Blair; two sons, Walter and Frank Blair, Columbus, Ohio; eight daughters, Mrs. Lucille Caudill, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Barbara Ellen Webb and Mrs. Ruby Hamilton, both of Thealka; Mrs. Martha Cundiff, Indiana ; Mrs. Lizzie Jones, Ashland; Mrs. Sylvia Roberts, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Cora Cantrell and Mrs. Betty Stambaugh, both of this city.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Leander Blair and Arbie Blair, city; Lonzie Blair and Luther Blair, both of Ohio; Mrs. Lucinda Arms, Sitka; Mrs Dove Barbery, Detroit, Michigan.
Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., with James Lyons and Don Fraley as officiating minsters.
Burial was in the Ratliff Cemetery in this city.
