GERMAN BLAIR
German Blair, 86, died at his home at West Van Lear Junction July 15, following an illness of a year.
Son of Britton and Levantia Conley Blair, he was born Feb. 12, 1867, at Barnetts Creek. He had been a resident of West Van Lear for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife 27 years ago.
Surviving is one son, Charlie Blair, Lexington; three sisters, Mrs Sarah Spradlin, city, Mrs. Rhoda Ratliff, Barnetts Creek, Mrs. Martha Ward, Carey, O.; three brothers, George Blair, Denver, Frank Blair, Barnetts Creek, and James Blair, Denver.
Funeral services were held at the Collista Freewill Baptist Church Friday with the Rev. Adron Davis officiating. Music was by the Tom's Creek Quartet.
Burial was made at the family cementery at Collista, under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
