KATE BAILEY
Mrs Kate Bailey, 80, resident of Thealka, died in a local hospital at 11:55 p.m., Feburary 23, following an illness of several weeks.
The daughter of William and Evelyn Arnett Puckett, she was born in Magoffin County, July 11, 1879. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bailey, twenty- seven years ago.
Survivors include one son, Rev. Charley Bailey, Wabash, Indiana; five daughters, Lula Perkins, Margaret Rowland, Christine Meade, Irene Hampton and Emogene Mahan, all of Thealka; three brothers, Luther Puckett, and Kanawha Puckett, both of Thealka; Charlie Puckett, Florida; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-one great- grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, from the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church with Don Fraley and Kermitt Preston as officiating ministers.
Music was conducted by the Thealka Quartet.
Burial was in the Thealka Cemetery.
