Veteran Railway Conductor Dies Funeral Services Held Monday For Grant Anderson
Grant Anderson, 75, first conductor on the B. S. & K. R. Railway, died at his home here at 12:10 p.m., Saturday, October 12, after an illness of one year.
He was the father of Glenn Anderson with the U.S. Employment Service at Prestonsburg.
Born on March 23, 1882 in Magoffin County, he had been a resident of Paintsville for the past 27 years. His parents were the late John and Louise Hammond Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving, besides the son, is his wife, Mary Kilbourne Anderson, and two brothers, Alex Anderson, Combs, Ky., and George Anderson, Hazard, Ky.
Pallbearers were Charles Spradlin, Rogert T. Cooper, Roy Ross, Tom Butler and George C. Perry.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 12 at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. O.S. Simmerman officiating.
Burial was made in the Trimble Cemetary at Hager Hill.
