WILLIAM ADKINS
1903-1986
 
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 6, in Preston Funeral
Home Chapel for William (Bill) Adkins, 83.

Mr. Adkins died August 3 in Riverview Manor Nursing Home following
an extended illness.

He was born September 15, 1903,in Johnson County, the son of JAMES
and RENDA KEATON ADKINS.

He was a retired miner and a member of the Freewill Baptist
Church.

His wife, Alka Mayo Adkins, preceded him in death March 13, 1982.

Surviving are a daughter, Josephine Napier, of Thelma; a step-
daughter, Maxine Daniels, of Van Lear; four sons, Edd Adkins, of
Van Lear, Sam Adkins, of Wittensville, Huey Adkins, of West
Virginia, an Ben Adkins of Paintsville; two grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.

Clifford Austin officiated at services with burial in Holbrook
Cemetery at Davis Branch.

[ NOTE ]
The obit for William Adkins erroneously states that he was survived
by sons Edd Adkins, Sam Adkins, Huey Adkins, Ben Adkins these were
his BROTHERS not sons and there were three more Edison Adkins, Lester
Eugene Adkins, & Emerson Adkins. Sam Adkins was my father and the
others are all uncles to me.
