Emma Adkins, 89, of Paintsville, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 at her
residence.

Born March 22, 1915, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the
late Sol and Susan Alice Lemasters Blevins. She was a member of
Buffalo United Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Adkins, in 1993.

Survivors include six sons, Benny Adkins Jr. of Van Lear, Lon Adkins,
Joe Adkins, Harold Adkins, all of Paintsville, Marvin Adkins of Hager
Hill, and William Adkins of New Carlisle, Ohio; two daughters, Martha
Adkins of Springfield, Ohio, and Sula Reed of Tutor Key; 20
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four step- grandchildren; and
one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Buffalo United Baptist
Church with Eulas Adams, John Blanton, John Mollette and Doug Preston
officiating.

Burial was in Holbrook Cemetery, Paintsville, under direction of
Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
