EMERSON ADKINS 1914-1952 Services Held Here For Emerson Adkins Emerson Adkins, 38, Amherstdale, W. Va., former resident of Johnson County, died suddenly at his home Thursday. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was a miner by occupation. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucinda Fannin Adkins, one son, Felix Adkins, at home, and one daughter, Stella Louise Adkins, at home. Other survivors include the following brothers and sisters; William and Sam Adkins, both of Amherstdale, W. Va.; Mrs. Martha Wakely and Edkins, both of Van Lear, Ky.; Mrs. Rebecca Tackett and Bennie Adkins, both of Paintsville, and Huey Adkins of Mann, W. Va. Funeral services were conducted at the Paintsville Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. James Lyons and Scott Castle officiating. Music was provided by the Tom's Creek Quartet. Burial was made in the Keaton Cemetery at Davis Branch under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. The Paintsville Herald Nov. 27, 1952
