MAUDIE WALTERS 1887-1958 Mrs. Maudie Walters, 70, wife of the late Proctor Walters, died Wednesday, April 9, at her home after an illness of three years. Mrs. Walters was the daughter of the late George W. and Julina Brown Boyd. She was born in Johnson County November 25, 1887 and had lived at River for forty-one years. Her husband preceded her in death April 27, 1955. Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Elbert Castle, River; Mrs. Sam Brickey, Huntington; Mrs. Dexter Castle, San Antonio; and Mrs. Willia Mae Meeks, River; three half-sisters and two half- brothers, also seventeen grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Aprl 12, at the River United Baptist Church with Winfrey Meek, Cully Sparks and German Walters officiating ministers.
