SALLIE TACKETT

Mrs. Sallie Tackett, 88, resident of this city, died in a local
hospital at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, of pneumonia after and
illness of one month.
  
A native of Magoffin County, she was born February 9, 1875, the
daughter of the late Mose and Betty Smith Combs.  She had made her
home in this city for the past fourty- three years and was a member of
the Free Will Baptist Church.
  
Surviving are two sons, Ben Shepard, Salyersville; Willis Shepard of
this city; a daughter, Julie Tackett of this city; two brothers, John
Henry and Frank Combs both of Salyersville.
  
Funeral services wee conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday at the home of her
daughter with Rev. Scott Castle as officiating minister.
  
Burial was in the family cemetery in this city.
