June Stapleton, 79, of Oil Springs, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, at her
residence.
Born Sept. 25, 1928, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the
late Brooks and Swannie LeMaster Pelphrey. She was a clerk with Cox
Department Store.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Stapleton.
Survivors include three brothers, John G. Pelphrey of Stambaugh, Jack
Pelphrey of Flat Gap and Kenny Pelphrey; and a sister, Edna Grace
Caudill of Stambaugh.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Phelps and Son
Funeral Home, Paintsville, with James Kelly Caudill, Joe Carroll,
Mitchell Spradlin, and Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will be in
Dixon Cemetery, Staffordsville, under direction of Phelps and Son
Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5-10 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 28, at the funeral
home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Big
Sandy.
