Services Thursday For Mrs. Lorinda Spradlin
Mrs. Lorinda Spradlin, 91, one of Johnson County's oldest and beloved
women, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Barber on Davis
Branch at 10:50 p.m. Monday, October 22 1956, after an illness of ten
weeks.
The daughter of James and Naomi Price Davis, she was born in Johnson
County and had resided here all her life. She had been a member of
the United Baptist Church for the past sixty two years.
Her husband, James A. Spradlin, preceded her in death thirty-one
years ago.
Survivors, include another daughter, Mrs. Down Auxier, Madison,
Indiana; one step-daughter, Mrs. Hattie Webb, Prestonsburg; one
adopted son, John Johnson; one sister, Mrs. Melvin Hall of this city;
12 grandchildren and 4 step- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home of her daughter on
Davis Branch at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, with Rev. S.C.
Honeycutt and C.C. Hall as officiating ministers.
Burial will be in the family cemetery at Davis Branch under the
direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
