OTHIE SPARKS
1911-1993
Othie Sparks, 81, of Flat Gap, died Friday in Paul B.
Hall Medical Center. Mr. Sparks was born May 6, 1911, in
Johnson County, a son of the late Doc and Kate Medley
Sparks.
He was a retired Maintenance man and a member of the Kerz
Enterprise Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gusta Sparks; three sons, Willard
Sparks of Sunbury, Ohio, Darwin Sparks of Mt. Vernon,
Ohio, and Russell Sparks of Delaware, Ohio; four
daughters, Betty Evans, Judy Lewis and Anna Edwards, all
of Sanbury and Marilyn Lemaster of Marion, Ohio; three
brothers, Rupert Sparks of Springfield, Ohio, Mack Sparks
of Oil Springs and Faldo Sparks of Catlettsburg; two
sisters, Leslie Sparks of Springfield and Alta Sparks of
Chillicothe, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-
grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the
Kurz Enterprise Baptist Church at Flat Gap by Ellis
Hamilton, Hobert Meade, and Paul Keaton, ministers.
Burial will be in Sparks family cemetery at Flat Gap.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at Bryan Fraley &
Son Funeral Home in Paintsville.
