NANCY ANN SMITH 1897-1962 Mrs. Nancy Ann Smith, 65, resident of Sitka, died in a local hospital at 6:45 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, after a day’s illness. The daughter of the late William Johnson and Elizabeth Carter Patrick, she was born in Martin County June 9, 1897. A resident of Sitka for the past year, she had lived at Boons Camp most of her life, and was a member of the United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Smith. Surviving are two sons, Bill Smith, LaGrange; Kennie Smith, Sitka; eight daughters, Mrs. Goldie Akers, Mrs. Estella Staniford, Mrs. Myrtle Wright, Mrs. Ruth Fairchild, Miss Betty Smith and Ida Marie Smith, all of Sitka; Mrs. Rachel Webb; Van Lear. Also surviving is a niece. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday from the Little Friendship United Baptist Church with Nim Sturgill as officiating minister. Burial will be in the Butcher Cemetery at Boons Camp. Paintsville Herald 2-14-1962
