EZRA SALYERS
1889-1963
  
Ezra Salyers, 74, resident of Collista, died in St. Mary’s
Hospital, Huntington, WV, at 2:55 a.m., after an extended illness.
  
The son of the late James Marion and Sena  Salyers, he was born in
this county March 6, 1889, and had lived at Collista for the past
thirty-one years.
   
He was a member of the Church of Christ and formerly employed as a
carpenter.
  
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Verna Blevins Salyers; a son,
Mitchell Salyer, Flatwoods; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Woods,
Ashland; Mrs. Hester Bayes and Mrs. Loretta VanHoose, Collista;
Mrs. Minnie Blair, Troy, OH; a brother, John Logan Salyers, Kerz.
 
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, at the
Collista Freewill Baptist Church with Robert Reeves of Ashland, as
officiating minister.
  
Burial was in the family cemetery at Hager Hill.
