Green Rice, 75, well known resident of the county, died
October 20, at his home at Oil Springs.

He was born in Jennies Creek on April 29, 1872, the son
of James and Nancy Salyer Rice, and was a member of a
family of ten children.

He was married to Cora A. Davis who preceded him in death
two years ago.

Mr. Rice had been a member of the United Baptist Church
at Fish Trap for more than 40 years.

Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Erie Wheeler, Mrs.
Lillie Wheeler, Mrs. Rouie Caudill, Alva, Frank, Grant,
Charlie, Roy and Johnny, also four sisters, Mrs. Sarah K.
Picklesimer, Mrs. Mary Litteral, Mrs. Addie Collins.
Twenty-four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren
also survive.

Funeral services were conducted at the home on Wednesday,
October 22, by Rev. Lonza Reed and Rev. Hargis Conley.

Burial was made in the family cemetery at Oil Springs.
