Funeral services were held Thursday July 30, for Nellie Preston,
96.
  
Mrs. Preston was born November 14, 1895, in Johnson County, the
daughter of the late Bascom and Julia Hylton Vanhoose.
  
She was oreceded in death by her husband, Claude Preston, in 1978.
  
Surviving are two daughters, Helen VanHoose and June Ella Lyons,
both of Paintsville; one sister, Zelda Bailey of Ashland; and two
grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five great great
grandchildren.
   
Officiating at services in Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church
were James Kelly Caudill and Paul Wayne Browning.
  
Burial was in Bascom Vanhoose Family Cemetery at Nippa, with
Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
