Paintsville Resident Dies Wednesday
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Enterprise
Baptist Church for Elbert Poe, 80, who died at his home Wednesday
following an illness of three months. Death was attributed to
pneumonia.
Born March 16, 1872 in Magoffin County, he was the son of Jim and Ida
Caudill Poe. He was a resident of this city at the time of his
death.
Surviving besides his wife, Florence Arnett Poe, are two sons,
Garland Poe, Marion, Ohio, Edd Poe, Salyersville; two daughters, Mrs.
David Hensley, and Mrs. Bonnie Ward, both of this city; one step-
child, Mr. Tom Arnett, of this city.
Revs. Henry Tackett and Bill Nicholas officiated at the service.
Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
