Funeral Services Held Monday For Mrs. I. Meek

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Meek, 73, were held Monday at the
Buffalo United Baptist Church. Elders Leonard Walters, Tom Sammons
and Elzie Banks were the officiating ministers.

Mrs. Meek succumbed Friday at her home in New Boston, O., after an
illness of a year. A resident of Ohio for over twenty years, she was
born in this county June 5, 1882, the daughter of Andy and Millie
Coburn McKenzie.

She is survived by her husband, Martin Meek, one son, Donnie Meek,
Washington, D. C., one daughter, Mrs. Michale Grant, Burns, Tenn.,
four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include one brother, Alphonzo McKenzie, New Boston,
Ohio, and three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Pickerel and Mrs. Naomi Simpkins,
both of New Boston, and Mrs. Flora Blevins, city.

Burial was made in the Town Cemetery under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
