FUNERAL RITES HERE AT FREEWILL CHURCH JAY MCKENZIE

Jay McKenzie, 58, deputy sheriff and former constable, Paintsville
succumbed to an illness of one year October 27, 1950 at the Veterans
Hospital, Huntington.

He was born in Paintsville August 8, 1892, and was the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Andy McKenzie. He was married to Mary D. McKenzie, who survives
him, January 12, 1915, in Paintsville. He was a member of the
Freewill Baptist Church.

Also surviving are two brothers and five sisters: William McKenzie,
Flat Gap; Lonza McKenzie, Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs. Flora Blevins,
Paintsville; and Mrs. Virgie West, Mrs. Ida Meek, Mrs. Edna Jackson,
Mrs. Ruby Kestner, all of Portsmouth, Ohio.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p. m., Sunday, October 29,
1950 at the Freewill Baptist Church Paintsville, with the Rev. Scott
Castle officiating.

Burial was made in the City Cemetery under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
