Wilbur Resident Passes May 15 In Lexington
Floyd McKenzie, 80, died in a Lexington hospital Thursday afternoon after an illness of several months.
The son of the late Tom and Nancy Jane McKenzie, he was born in Johnson County in 1878. He was a resident of Wilbur and engaged in farming prior to his retirement.
His wife, Daisy Love McKenzie, preceded him in death two years ago.
Survivors include a son, Okie McKenzie, Wilbur; three brothers, Bill Ed McKenzie, Albert McKenzie, and Hobert McKenzie, all of Flat Gap. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Cannon Chapel Church at Volga Saturday, May 17, at 1:00 p.m., with Harry Salyer and Henry T. Hamilton as officiating ministers. Burial was in the family cemetery at Volga.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: This cemetery is also known as the "Ramey Branch Cemetery" at Volga, KY.
