PASSES AT LOUISA
Sanford Lyon, 85, father of Ross Lyon of this city, died in a
Louisa hospital at 11:50 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, after an
illness of ten days.
A retired farmer, he had lived in Louisa for twenty-seven years.
He was born at Keaton, Ky., June 11, 1865, a son of the late
William and Linna Skaggs Lyon.
His first wife, Mary Skaggs Lyon, died in 1907. He was later
married to Margaret Ferguson, who survives.
He was a member of the United Baptist Church at Keaton for twenty-
six years.
Survivors also include besides his widow and son, two daughters,
Mrs. C. B. Wells, Louisa, and Mrs. Sylvester Ball, Jr., Lexington,
and five sons, Forest L. Blaine, Proctor H., Louisa, Buell S.,
Louisa, Jesse D., Louisa and Robert D., Orlando, Fla.
Surviving also are nineteen grandchildren eleven great
grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Saturday at the Free
Will Baptist Church in Louisa with the Rev. Prater Blair of
Huntington and the Rev. J. E. Bailey of Red Bush officiating.
Burial was in the Lyon Cemetery, at Keaton.
