Willie Lackey Of Boons Camp Died January 17
Willie Lackey, 56, disabled miner of Boons Camp, died of cancer in a local hospital at 8:00 a.m., January 17, after an illness of two years.
The son of William and Ida Ward Lackey, he was born on July 13, 1904, and had been a life-long resident of Boons Camp where he was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stella Mae Daniels Lackey, four sons, Willie Lackey, Jr., Tom Lackey, Charles Lackey and Danny Lackey all of Boons Camp; six daughters, Lorraine Lackey, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Cassie Ward, Geneva, Ohio; Mrs. Carrel Austin, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Marietta Preston, Hager Hill; Larlene Lackey and Barbara Lackey both of Boons Camp; two brothers, Hansford Lackey, Melvin, Ky., Ed Lackey, Boons Camp, Mrs. Lennie Hughes, Dehue, W. Va.; Mrs. Anna Porter, Logan, W. Va., Mrs. Bell Music, Boons Camp; Mrs. Mintia Branham, Jack Creek.
Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday from the Church of Christ at Meally with J. H. Short as officiating minister.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Boons Camp.
