ETHEL HITCHCOCK
1909-1981
Oil Springs resident Mrs. Ethel Hitchcock, 72, died
Saturday, November 21, 1981, in Paintsville Hospital
after an extended illness.
Born Monday, January 11, 1909, in Morgan County, Mrs.
Hitchcock was the daughter of Stone and Dena Elwick
Cantrell.
She was a member of Caudill Fork United Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Estill Hitchcock,
Staffordsville, and Paul R. Hitchcock, Lewiston, Idaho;
two daughters, Lina Mahan, Barnetts Creek, and Madge
Blair, Lucasville, Ohio; six grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.
Survivors also include two brothers, Cas and Bill
Cantrell, both of Columbus, Ohio, and three sisters,
Katherine Clark, also of Columbus, Nellie Leggs,
Jeopardy, Ky., and Millie Cantrell, Florida.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 24, 1981, at
Caudill Fork United Baptist Church, Oil springs, with
Elders J. T. Bailey and Wayne Blair and Rev. James K.
Caudill officiating.
Burial was in the family cemetery on Blanton Branch, Oil
Springs.
Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
