BILL HANEY
1877-1957
Bill Haney, 79, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, December 21, at the home
of his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Tackett, following an illness of ten
months.
Born August 6, 1877, in Magoffin County, he was the son of the late
James and Margaret Simmons Haney. He had been a resident of
Paintsville for 36 years. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Alice Haney, on December 19, 1943.
Surviving are three sons, Earl Haney, Charlie Haney and Estill Haney,
all of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. Cecil Tackett, city, and
Mrs. Lester Williams, Muncie, Ind.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 24, at the
Vine Street Enterprise Baptist Church with the Revs. Homer Evans and
Claude Preston officiating.
Burial was made in the Town cemetery under the direction of the Jones
and Preston Funeral Home.
