ELLA HACKNEY
1892-1984
   
Ella Green Hackney, 92, died July 19 in Riverview Manor Nursing
Home, Prestonsburg.
  
Mrs. Hackney was born May 31, 1892, in Johnson County, the daughter
of Jackson and Sally Vanhoose Castle.
  
She was a resident of Lowmansville and had been a member of Georges
Creek United Baptist Church for 77 years.
  
Preceding her in death were two husbands, John C. Green, 1957, and
Charley Hackney.
  
Surviving are two sons, Ira Green, Lowmansville and Ora Greene,
Ashland; four stepsons; a daughter, Ollie Preston, Tutor Key; four
step daughters; two brothers, Clyde and General Castle of Thealka;
six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 14  great-great-
grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held July 22 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Elders Roy Coffee and Joe Carroll officiating.
  
Burial was in Clark Lemaster Cemetery at Lowmansville.
