ISOM FAIRCHILD 1883-1954 Funeral Services Today For Winifred Man Isom Fairchild, 70, member of a prominent Johnson County family, died of a heart attack at the home of his brother-in-law, W. F. Wheeler, at Winifred Sunday afternoon, Aug.01 1954. Mr. Fairchild had retired to his room in the afternoon for a short rest, and was found about 6:30, when Mr. Wheeler went to awaken him for the evening meal. The two had lived together since the death of Mrs. Wheeler in 1950. Mr. Fairchild the son of the late Miller and Sarah Daniel Fairchild, was born in Johnson County on October 13, 1883. His wife, Mary Keelin Fairchild, preceded him in death several years ago. He was affiliated with the United Baptist Church. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Johnnie Fairchild, Lavelette, W. Va., Zera Fairchild, Ashland, Ky., Mrs. Jane Stambaugh and Mrs. Ollie Lemaster, both of Kerz, Mrs. Lon Green, Chandlerville, Mrs. Cyrus Murray and Mrs. Farris Murray, both of Ashland, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a. m. today at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lemaster, at Kerz, by Rev. Arthur Morris, and Rev. Bill Davis. Music was by the the Toms Creek Quartet. Pallbearers were Roy Wheeler, Wathen Fairchild, Millard Stambaugh, Glenford Fairchild, Edgie Fairchild, and Troy Fairchild. Burial was made in the Daniel Cemetery at Kerz under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. NOTE: The death date in this obituary was figured from the publication date and entered.
