JOHN DILLS JR 1915-1948 Rites Tuesday For Nippa Man Funeral services were held Tuesday for John Dills,Jr., Nippa, who died August 15 at 3:00 p.m., after an illness of sereval years. Mr.Dills was born August 19,1915 at Nippa where he spent his boyhood years.He was a graduate of the Paintsville High School and Boothe Business School.He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and an active member of the Paintsville Lodge No. 381, F. & A.M., Paintsville Chapter No. 131, R.A.M., Paintsville Commandery, Knight Templar No.48, El Hassa Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Ashland and Paintsville Chapter No. 320, Order of theEastern Star. He was Past Master of his lodge, and had the honor of being the first local First Commander of Knights Templar. On Nov.12, 1939 he was married to Avanell Trimble who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Judith Nell, his parents Mr.and Mrs. John Dills of Nippa,one sister,Mrs.J.P.Hill,West Prestonsburg and grandmother, Mrs. Zina Dills of Nippa and other relatives and a host od friends. Funeral service were conducted at Toms Creek Freewill Baptist Church by Revs.Millard Van Hoose,Claude Preston,and C.C.Hall. Burials was made in the Price Cemetery at Oil Springs under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. Paintsville Hearld Thursday August 12,1948
