MARY DANIEL 1862-1953 Mrs. Mary Daniel, 91, one of Johnson County's oldest and most respected women passed away at 12:01 Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Iuka Thompson, after an illness of four years. She was the grandmother of George Branham of this city. Mrs. Daniel was born on June 24, 1862, in Boyd County, a daughter of the late Moses and Martha VanHoose Preston. She had been a resident of Johnson County since childhood. Her husband, Isom Palmer Daniel, preceded her in death in 1918. Mrs. Daniel was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving, besides Mrs. Thompson, are two sons and two daughters, Cort Daniel, River, Kentucky; Lafe Daniel, Russell, Kentucky; Mrs. G. C. Cline, Inez, Kentucky, and Mrs. C. F. Mann, Whitehouse, Kentucky, also two sisters, Mrs. Vada Preston, Richardson, Kentucky, Mrs. Julia Nibert, Wichita, Kansas and one-half sister, Mrs. Ida Ramsey, Ashland, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, at the First Christian Church by Rev. Joseph Zavadsky.
