Said To Be County’s Oldest Citizen;
Rites Held Here Saturday
Amanda Dale, probably the oldest citizen of Johnson County, died here
Friday at the home of her grandchildren, Mr.and Mrs. Bill Hampton.
She was said to be 110 years of age. She had been in ill health for
three years.
Born May 14, around the year 1845, she was the daughter of Ruben and
Ythie Rose Dale. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Sarah Dale of this city.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home of the
Hamptons with Scott Castle as officaiting minister.
Burial was made in the VanHoose Cemetery under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
