Mrs. Frankie Conley, age 79, died Wednesday, December 7, at 10
p.m. in an Ashland hospital after a recent illness.

Born March 30, 1887 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of
Samuel and Mary Spradlin Pelphrey.

Formerly living in the county she had moved to Ashland where she
spent several years. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist
Church.

Her husband, Lawrence Conley, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Mervel of Ashland, Marvin of
Columbus, Ohio and Herbert of Troy, Ohio: a daughter, Mrs. Avanell
Phelps of Ashland; two brothers, James H. Pelphrey of Denver and a
sister, Mrs. Irvin Spradlin of Paintsville.

The funeral was held Saturday, December 10, at 10 a.m. at the
Paintsville Funeral Home with Willard Wilcox and John Sammons
officiating. Special music was provided by James F. May, soloist
with Mike Conley as organist.

Burial took place in the family cemetery at Denver under direction
of the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Jack Pelphrey, Joe Pelphrey, Donald
Ray Pelphrey, Leroy Pelphrey, Carroll Pelphrey, Vencil Pelphrey,
Walter Pelphrey, and James Pelphrey, Jr.
