MARCUS L. BUTCHER
1918-1963

M.L. Butcher, 44, who was employed as a heavy equipment operator
by the Southern Hills Supply Company in Dayton, Ohio, was killed
at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, when a high lift he was
operating turned over on him. He had been employed as an operator
for eleven years.

The son of Mrs. Lura Deboard Butcher of Boons Camp and the late
Ballard Butcher, he was born at Boons Camp December 18, 1918. He
was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jenlee Van Hoose Butcher, whom he
married at White House June 26, 1937.

Also surviving are four sons, Marcus Harold Butcher, Miamisburg,
Ohio; Cecil, Clyde and Phillip Butcher at home; four daughters,
Diana, Vendia, Rita and Eva Butcher, all at home; three brothers,
Arnold Butcher, Blair, W. Va.; Earl and Willie Butcher both of
Boons Camp; three sisters, Elva Mollett, Mary Preston and Edna
Preston all of Boons Camp. Also surviving are two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the
Butcher Cemetery at Boons Camp with Fred Rowland and Oren Davis as
officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Butcher cemetery.
