Dick Blevins, 74, Passes Monday Rites To Be Thursday For Van Lear
Dick Blevins, 74, died Monday morning at his home in Van Lear
following a long illness.
Born November 15, 1882, in Johnson County, he was the son of the
late Robert and Martha King Blevins.
He had been a resident of Van Lear for 48 years and was a retired
His wife, Nora Meade Blevins, proceded him in death July 11, 1955.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Blevins, Newport, Ky., and Richard
Blevins, Worchester, Mass., nine daughters, Mrs. Fannie Wetzel,
Jenkins, Mrs. Bertha Williams, Covington, Mrs. Beatrice Marlow,
Washington, D. C., Mrs. Audrey Estep, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Helen
VanHoose, Salyersville, Mrs. Manerva Bartley, Big Branch, Mrs.
Georgia Ayers, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Bridgett Spradlin, Van Lear, and
Mrs. Mecca Church, Tutor Key, and two brothers, Harrison Blevins,
Springfield, Ohio, and Dock Blevins, Weeksbury, Ky.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday from the Van Lear
Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Edgar Hewlett officiating.
Burial will be made in the Clubhouse Cemetery at Van Lear.
