CARL HERSCHELL BLAIR
1913-1996
Carl Hershell Blair, 82, died Sunday, March 10, 1996 at Highlands
Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Blair was born Aug.20 1913, in Johnson County, son of the late
Darius and Norma Charlotte Ramey Blair.
He was a retired county and state highway worker, a member of the Old
Union United Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Blair; one son, Carl F. Blair of
Prestonsburg; three brothers; Darius Blair Jr. of Volga, Bill Blair
of Stone Coal and Dow Blair of Ohio; three sisters, Opal Conley and
Sarah Fairchild, both of Paintsville; and Grace Lee Ratliff of
Barnetts Creek; and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 12, in Old Union United
Baptist Church at Staffordsville, with John Sparks officiating.
Burial was in Dixon Cemetery at Staffordsville.
