JUDY BANKS
1881-1966
Judy Banks, age 85, died Monday, October 10, 1966 at 7 p.m. at a
local hospital following an extended illness.
Born April 27, 1881 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the
late Simon and Clara Webb Butcher.
She had been living at Van Lear. Her husband the late Robert
Banks preceeded her in death in 1942.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Manchester and George of Van
Lear, a step-son, Elzie of Meally, two daughters, Mrs. Geneva
Holmes of Wabash, Indiana and Mrs. Dixe Blevins of Paintsville,
and two brothers Willie Butcher of Paintsville and Thomas H.
Butcher of Van Lear. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and 47
great grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Wednesday, October
12, at 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home with Nim Sturgill and Tom Sammons officiating.
Interment followed in the Butcher Cemetery at Van Lear with the
Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge.
