FUNERAL TODAY FOR RAY BALDWIN
Ray Baldwin, age 68, died Monday, May 16, 4:15 a.m. at a local
hospital following an extended illness.
The funeral was conducted today at the Beechwall United Baptist
Church with Hammie May, Lonza Reed, and Prater Blair officiating.
Born September 11, 1897, in Johnson County, he was the son of the
late Wince and Louise Caudill Baldwin.
He had been living at Denver, and was formerly a miner. He was a
member of the United Baptist Church.
His wife who survives him is the former Dicie Hitchcock.
Surviving are: three sons; Raymond and James, Troy, Ohio,
Mitchell, Leander; four daughters, Mrs. Okie Etchell Caudill and
Mrs. Mary Louise Blair, Denver; Mrs. Thelma Daniels, Carey, Ohio;
Mrs. Jewel Spradlin, Leesburg, Virginia; a sister, Mrs. Lucy
Blair, Paintsville; and two half-sisters: Mrs. Alma Spradlin,
Denver; and May Baldwin, Oil Springs; and three half-brothers;
Marion, Curtis, and Hardy B. Baldwin, Oil Springs.
Burial was held in the Baldwin Family Cemetery at Denver under
direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
