SOUTHSIDE YOUTH DIES OF WOUNDS IN FRANCE
Word has been received by John W. Baldwin, Southside that his son
Everett R. Baldwin, who was wounded in France, December 21, died on
January 2. He had served in the United States army nine years.
Surviving is his father, three half brothers Freddie, in Mississippi,
Allen in the U.S. navy and John Jr., in France with the U.S. army. Two
brothers, Thomas and William, somewhere in France, and two sisters,
Mrs. Eddie Franklin and Neva Jean Baldwin, both of Southside.

Final Rites Sunday For Sgt. Baldwin
Sgt. Everett Rice Baldwin, son of the late John and Alkia Rice Baldwin
and nephew of Irvin Rice of this city, will be returned here Saturday
for reburial.
The body will be taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Eddie Franklin,
in Southside Saturday and funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug.
15, at 2:00 P.M., at the Freewill Baptist Church.
Graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
