George Elliott Baldridge, 59, Williamsport miner, died Saturday
afternoon at his home from the effects of a shotgun blast fired
into the fore part of his neck, it was reported here.

A coroner's jury, empaneled by Johnson County Coroner Jim Trimble,
reached a verdict that the deceased "met death at his own
hands."The coroner's jury found no known motive for the act,
Coroner Trimble said.

Mr. Baldridge was a member of the United Mine Workers of America,
a lifelong resident of Williamsport and vicinity and was well-
known and respected by all who knew him.

He was born December 7, 1892 at Williamsport, Ky., the son of the
late Andrew and Nancy Hite Baldridge.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Ward Baldridge, at home; a son,
Glen Baldridge, Thelma, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs.Geneva Mollett,
and Mrs. Neva Music, both of Williamsport,Ky.; and one sister,
Mrs. Exer Ward, Williamsport, Ky.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 17, at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Mollett, at Williamsport with Herschell Short
officiating.

Burial was made in the family cemetery nearby under the direction
of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
