LONG ILLNESS TAKES MRS. LAURA ARROWOOD Mrs. Laura B. Arrowood, 51, died at her home in Huntington, W. Va., on December 19, 1947 after a long illness from cancer. She was a native of this county and had resided in Huntington about three years. Mrs. Arrowood was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Leonard Arrowood, and the following children: Mrs. Roscoe Preston and Miss. Jayne Arrowood, City, Ruby, Elizabeth, and Betty Lou of Huntington, Virgil Oscar, and Henry Russell of Huntington, Leonard Jr., Paintsville, and James, U. S. Army. She is survived by two sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Frank Goble and Mrs. Walton Lady, both of Springfield, Ohio, Hansford Ward, Louisa, Madison Ward, Springfield, Ohio, McKinley Ward, West Portsmouth, O., Allie Ward, Louisa, Madison Ward, Spokane, Wash., Martin Ward, Louisa and George Ward, Lexington. The body was brought to Paintsville, where funeral services were held at the United Baptist Church on December 22 by Rev. Bud Wiley and Rev. Chilly Sparks. Burial was made in the Wells cemetery.
