REMAS AMBURGEY 1928-2007 FLOYD COUNTY Remas Amburgey, 79, of Hager Hill, formerly of Knott County, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville. Born Jan. 12, 1928, at Pinetop, he was a son of the late Robert "Bob" and Mary Liz Bentley Amburgey. He was a retired coal miner, member of the U.M.W.A. District 17 and Local Union 1741. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lloyd, Hobert, Ivas and Reevel Amburgey. Survivors include his wife, Imilee Thornsberry Amburgey; two sons, Cledith Ray Amburgey of Shelby, Ohio and Herbert Amburgey of Staffordsville; two daughters, Wilma Amburgey and Sheila Amburgey, both of Hager Hill; two brothers, Emil Amburgey of Madison, Ind. and Orbin Amburgey of Harlan, Ind.; two sisters, Delphenia Mullins of Pinetop and Olga Combs of Leburn; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, April 21, at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home. BiG Sandy News Apr 2007
