Larry Wayne Poindexter Sr., 51, of West Van Lear, died Wednesday,
Aug. 6, at his residence.

Born July 17, 1952, in Memphis, Tenn., he was a son of the late
James and Robbie Poindexter.

He was a U. S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Salyers Poindexter of West Van
Lear; a son, Larry Poindexter Jr. of West Van Lear; four daughters,
Stacy Lilly of Columbus, Ohio, and Sherlynn Poindexter, Shayna
Poindexter, and Sesyli Poindexter, all of West Van Lear; a brother,
Benny Poindexter of Memphis; four sisters, Loretta Moore and Jean
Blue, both of Memphis, Lanetha Woods of Olive Branch, Miss., and
Myrtle Samuels of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 10, at Jones-Preston Funeral
Chapel, Paintsville, with Revs. Robert McDavid and Benny Poindexter
officiating.

Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
