Funeral services will be held today, Friday, August 4, 2000 for
Thomas E. George, 84, of West Van Lear, who died August 1 at
Highlands Regional Medical Center.
  
Mr. George was born March 29, 1916, in Floyd County, to the late
Malcolm and Virginia Emily Conley George.
  
He was a miner and member of the First Church of God of
Paintsville.
  
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou George.
  
Surviving are one son, Clay George of Sitka; one daughter, Tommie
L. Kendrick of West Van Lear; two brothers, Clyde George of
Prestonsburg and Melvin George of Adrian, Michigan; and two
grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
  
Officiating at 1 p.m. services at Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel
will be Revs. Trevor Belcher and Dewey E. Music.
  
Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
