Construction worker Silas Paul George, 63, died Sunday, April 29,
at his West Van Lear residence.
  
Mr. George was born February 13, 1938, in Floyd County, to the late
Charlie George and Mary Belle Powers Clifton.
  
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Trula Daughtery George,
in 1989.
  
Surviving are one son, Paul George of West Van Lear; four
daughters, Brenda Gillespie of Paintsville, Misty Dawn Gannon of
Salyersville and Tammy D. George and Mary D. Reed, both of Louisa;
and seven grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Jones- Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with Richard Roberts officiating.
  
Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
