Dovie Gearheart, 89, of Hueysville, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at
Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
Born May 26, 1916, in Knott County, she was a daughter of the late
Wilson and Martha Patton Handshoe. She was a homemaker and
attended Freewill Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gearheart;
a son, Randall Gearheart; a daughter, Geneva Baldridge; two
brothers; and six sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Glen Gayheart of Shelby, Ohio,
Douglas Gearheart of Willard, Ohio and Quintin Gearheart of
Martin; two daughters, Wanda Sue Jones of Prestonsburg and Deborah
Howell of Hueysville; a brother, Sammy Handshoe of Winchester; 14
grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, March 20, at Nelson-Frazier Funeral
Home, Martin, with Allen Chaffins officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Martha

is survived by three sons: Glen Gayheart (Anna) of Shelby, Ohio, Douglas Gearheart
(Dalia) of Willard, Ohio and Quintin Gearheart (Luci) of Martin;
two daughters: Wanda Sue Jones (Clinton) of Prestonsburg, Deborah Howell (Darrell)
of Hueyesville; a brother: Sammy Handshoe of Winchester, Ky., 14 grandchildren, 28
great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law: Anna Mae
Gearheart. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a
son: Randall Gearheart, a daughter & son-in-law: Geneva and Harold Baldridge; 2
brothers and 6 sisters. Funeral services will be Monday, March 20, 2006 at 1 p.m. at
the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home with Allen Chaffins officiating; visitation will be
Saturday, March 18th at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Highland
Memorial Park in Staffordsville on Monday, March 20th at 1 p.m., under the direction
of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home.
