Janet J. Fyffe, 74, of Lexington, died Monday, May 18, 1998 at the
Hospice care center.
  
She was born May 2, 1924, in Johnson County, the daughter of
Chalmer Spradlin and Zora Johnson Spradlin.
  
She was a homemaker.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond
Fyffe, who died July 23, 1982, and her son, David Eugene Fyffe.
  
She is survived by one son, Jerry Raymond Fyffe of Orient, Ohio;
two daughters, Betsy Louise Baker of Fairborne, Ohio; and Jan
Steigleman of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Wilma Jean Burcher
of Springfield, Ohio; Arlie Whitaker and Ruth Ward, both of West
Van Lear; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
  
Services were May 21, at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with
Hubert Slone officiating.
  
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville.
