EDGAR FRANKLIN

Former Johnson County resident, Edgar Franklin, 91, of
Prestonsburg, died Friday, October 13,2000 at Highlands Regional
Medical Center.
  
Mr. Franklin was born March 9, 1909, in Johnson County, to the late
William James Franklin and Ellen Sammons Franklin.
  
He was a retired coal miner.
  
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Caudill
Franklin.
  
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Grim Franklin; four sons, Paul
Irvin Franklin, of Ashley, Ohio, Gary Dean Franklin, of Nippa,
William Marion Franklin, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Larry Richard
Franklin, of Columbia, South Carolina; one daughter, Ruth Marlene
Franklin, of Mooresville, North Carolina; one sister, Nora
Franklin, of Salyersville; 15 grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 15, at Concord United
Baptist Church with Elder Charles Price and Elder John R. Pelphrey
officiating.
  
Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
