James William "Bill" Fitzwater, 67, of Paintsville, died Thursday,
Sept. 2, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville.
  
Born July 22, 1937, in Clark County, Ohio, he was a son of Carrie
Ballenger and the late Stanley Nelson Fitzwater.
  
He was a maintenance employee with Prestonsburg Community College
and a U. S. Navy veteran.
  
Additional survivors include his wife, Virginia Sue Hensley
Fitzwater of Paintsville; three daughters, Sheryl Lynette
Pemberton of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Tonika Darlene Sluss and Bonika
Sueann McCoy, both of Paintsville; four sisters, Nancy Laufler of
San Diego, Calif., Gail Baine of Zenia, Ohio, and Edith Lisch and
Patricia Parkinson, both of Springfield, Ohio; four grandchildren;
and two great- grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Sunday, Sept. 5, at Southside Freewill
Baptist Church, Paintsville, with Wayne Price and Gary Michael Roe
officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
